Catching Warm Up
1. What You Will Learn In This Section : Catching Warm Up
The catching warm up takes the warm up to the next level, moving specifically to working on catching the ball in the same specific trajectory you will in a game. You will warm up with different balls, beginning with a cricket ball or bowling machine ball and then switching to softer balls to really concentrate on the speed of the ball through the air.
You begin by focusing on flat catches over 10-15 metres. The hitter hits straight at you, you need to be switched on as the ball comes at you flat.
You begin by catching the ball with two hands and then working on single hand catching.
If you don't have a hitter, practice by throwing a tennis ball against a wall, both over arm and under arm and work on catching technique, 2 and 1 handed.
