What You Will Learn In This Section : Fundamental Catching Technique

The three basic hand positions for catching are determined by the height of the ball as it comes to the fielder.

• Ball below waist height - Fingers pointed down, hands together, little fingers cross over.
• Ball at waist / chest height - Fingers point away from line of ball, hands together, little fingers cross over.
  
• Ball above chest height - Fingers point up, hands together, thumbs and first fingers cross over.
